Cellori and Project Finance Institute Launch AI-Powered Modelling Capability for Project Finance & Infrastructure modelling

PF Nexus brings a world-class ecosystem of modelling standards, certified training, and governance to AI-automated financial modelling

Cellori today announced the launch of PF Nexus, developed in partnership with the Project Finance Institute (PFI). The collaboration brings together Cellori’s AI-native modelling technology with PFI’s global leadership in project finance training to set a new standard for how complex financial models are built, reviewed, and governed.

PF Nexus enables AI agents to understand, build, and audit complex Excel-based financial models while operating strictly within the industry-leading financial modelling standards, rules, and techniques. The framework is built for high-stakes projects where consistency, transparency, and auditability are essential.

The framework is powered by Cellori, which handles standards enforcement, model structure, formatting and agent knowledge natively, and enables engineering-grade version control via Git. This allows AI agents to focus entirely on financial logic, resulting in significantly improved performance, reliability and governance compared to the currently available mass-market AI tools.

“Leading financial analysis across billions of dollars in projects taught me first-hand that Excel and financial modelling are separate issues,” said Dan Wilcockson, Founder of Cellori. “Cellori is exceptional at Excel. AI agents are exceptional at financial modelling. The combination delivers best-in-class AI performance without sacrificing professional standards.”

The partnership reflects a shared belief that AI will play a central role in closing the global gap between the growing demand for high-quality financial models and the limited supply of experienced modellers, but only when deployed with appropriate discipline.

“There is a worldwide shortage of reliable, high-quality project finance modelling capability,” said Kenny Whitelaw-Jones, Founder of the Project Finance Institute. “AI can close that gap, but only if it meets the consistency, standards, and governance our industry demands. PFI is partnering with Cellori to deliver exactly that and to prepare modellers for a fundamentally new way of working.”

As part of the launch, PFI will roll out a first-of-its-kind, AI-first certified training programme, embedding PF Nexus directly into its courses. This approach teaches practitioners core project finance modelling concepts while actively working with powerful AI automation, and builds new skills for agent governance, AI-driven audit, and scaling analyst output.

The framework will transform the speed and consistency of standards-based financial modelling, with a growing modular library of project finance-specific knowledge.

Cellori was built alongside leading financial modelling teams with one objective: enabling high-stakes capital allocators to make better, faster, and more defensible decisions.
